Welcome Fellow Alumni of West High School

The West High School Foundation is committed to keeping you connected to the school and all of its accomplishment. Through the website, you will be able to connect with fellow classmates, keep up with school tradition, and make financial contributions to enhance the school’s quality. On October 31st, West High School celebrated its annual homecoming. This year, we solicited the full participation of all alumni. We asked each class president to get in contact with their fellow classmates and attend homecoming. At the football, we and the PTSO hosted an alumni tent where alumni met and learned what we were doing. Additionally, the foundation is coordinating an effort to produce the 2009 Alumni Directory for past graduates. Harris Connect will publish this directory; it was published last for the school in 2001. We are also starting the Friends of West High School that comprised people who are dedicated to improving the school. This year, our fundraising efforts are focused on two key areas:

Retaining and rewarding our great teachers. The Foundation gives grants for a variety of projects including funding teachers over the summer and purchasing equipment in the classrooms. Additionally, we help fund teachers to attend conferences and continuing education classes.

Replacing our library computers. This year, we are working with the PTSO to replace the outdated computers in the library. Our goal is $75,000.

Help! West High School is the only school in Knox County to make the U.S. News and World Report list of excellent high schools! Because of the financial turmoil and budget costs within the county, it will be difficult to maintain this excellence without your contributions. We hope that your class will continue to support the rich tradition at West High School and continue to contribute financially to its causes. Feel free to make online donations [link].
