Grant Requests

The Grant Process

The WHS Foundation is implementing a few changes to our Grant process. We hope these changes will lead to a more efficient and effective allocation of resources. Please read the following guidelines below prior to submitting your funding request.

Foundational Excellence Grants

Foundational Excellence Grants are grants that are awarded throughout the school year for teachers to support their education and that of their students.

Previously we have had a rolling deadline for grant applications. Going forward we will now have the following deadlines:

August 31, 2024
Dec 31, 2024
April 31, 2025

Grant applications are reviewed and awarded three times per year during the September, January, and May WHS Foundation Board meetings which are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month throughout the school year.

One of the best ways to keep our grants process moving forward and continue donor contributions to WHSF is to demonstrate the impact of the funded project or program. Please provide quantitative metrics, success stories and/or stakeholder testimonials when possible. Perhaps most important are visual representations which can make the success results more accessible and compelling.

The three regular funding cycles for Foundational Excellence grants will continue to use the form that has been used previously. Click the button below to access the form.

Above and Beyond Grants

We have also introduced a new grant program called “Above and Beyond” grants. These are projects that are better suited to take place during the summer. Funding for the Above and Beyond grant(s) will be limited to $2500 for the cycle. The deadline for Above and Beyond Grant Applications:

March 31, 2025

The new Above and Beyond grant has a new application process. Please see Principal Speas for more information.

WHS Staff is encouraged to submit grants for any projects. We will prioritize grants that support academic excellence for as many students as possible and that encourage faculty and staff development and retention.
